Marshall Rafal, OLI Systems
Marshall Rafal is CEO and Executive Director of OLI Systems, Inc. Marshall was the founder of OLI, in 1971, and served as its President from 1971 until 2006. Marshall holds a BChE from The Cooper Union in New York City and both an MS and PhD from Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois.
Marshall is the principal author of AIChE’s Handbook of Aqueous Electrolyte Thermodynamics as well as the lead author of Chapter 7: “Models for Electrolyte Solutions in the book: Thermodynamics and phase Equilibrium Calculations (Stanley Sandler, editor). Marshall also was the recipient of a lifetime achievement award presented for industrial practice by the division of Computer Aided Chemical Engineering of the AIChE.
Under Marshall’s leadership OLI became the worldwide leader in technology and software for predicting electrolyte-based chemical systems as well as corrosion deriving from such systems.
