Product Vision: Development of Upstream Tools

OLI has identified a gap in their product line in the area of industry specific software tools. This talk explains OLI’s assessment of its software offerings and steps that will be taken to fill this gap. The presentation will include a product vision for Scale Analyzer, the migration of ScaleChem into the Analyzer product line.

Pat McKenzie, Aqueous Process Simulations, Inc. (AQSim)
Pat McKenzie is a partner in Aqueous Process Simulations (AQSim), and provides OLI sales direction and business development as well as project management for OLI and AQSim applications consulting projects. Pat holds a BS degree in Information Technology. Prior to this position, Pat's professional experience has been entirely in process simulation software development, beginning with work on Exxon's proprietary flowsheet simulator at the start of her career. Pat was the former Product Development Director for OLI, a former lead developer of the OLI software, the principal author of the ScaleChem and ESP user interfaces, and the original head of the Analyzer design team. Pat now works with clients on application screening and on arranging access to OLI electrolyte simulation technology.

Anthony J. (A.J.) Gerbino,, Aqueous Process Simulations, Inc. (AQSim)
AJ Gerbino is a partner of AQSim and provides training and applications consulting in OLI software. AJ holds a PhD in brine chemistry from Rice University. An experienced process simulation consultant, AJ consults on a wide variety of industry projects, with particular emphasis on upstream applications. As an instructor, AJ has taught numerous classes in electrolyte process simulation, as well as teaching the AQSim-designed course “Chemistry in Brine Production," which AJ created to especially provide electrolyte chemistry training to oil and gas production groups.
